Vestil Edge of Dock Levelers are permanently attached to the face of the dock. Docks need to be 48" high. When the truck trailer departs from the dock the lip drops automatically behind the face of the dock bumpers. A steel dock edge or approach ramp is required for these units to be properly installed. The Mechanical Edge of Dock leveler is operated by placing the actuation handle into the pocket of the inner lip and pulling down towards the floor level. An operator then pushes the handle forward until the lip of the edge of dock rest on the truck or container bed. When the trailer departs the lip retracts behind the rubber bumper face automatically.
