How to Select Your Pallet Rack

1. Frame Capacity: Calculate the total weight of all pallets per bay, excluding those on the floor.
2. Height: Measure pallet height, load, and beam height. Allow 4" clearance between the top of the load and the bottom of the beam. The top beam should be at least 6" lower than the forklift’s max lift height.
3. Depth: Pallets should overhang the frame by 3" at both ends. For a 48" pallet, use a 42" deep frame.
4. Width: Add 3" of clearance between the pallet and frame, plus 4" between pallets to find the correct beam length. Ensure each beam can support the pallet weight per level. Add-on sections need only one additional frame and beams.
