How to Select Your Pallet Rack
-
Frame Capacity
Calculate the total weight of all pallets stored per bay (excluding pallets on the floor). Ensure the frame can support this combined weight. -
Height
Measure the full vertical space needed, including the height of the pallet, pallet load, and beam height. Add at least 4 inches of clearance between the top of the load and the bottom of the beam above. The top beam should be at least 6 inches lower than the maximum lifting height of your forklift. -
Depth
Ensure the pallet overhangs the frame by 3 inches on both the front and back (e.g., a 48-inch pallet requires a 42-inch deep frame). Subtract 6 inches from the pallet's depth to determine the correct frame depth. Pallets must be in good condition to ensure proper support. -
Width
Measure the width of the pallet and add at least 3 inches of clearance between the pallet and the frame. Add an additional 4 inches of space between pallets to determine the correct beam length. Each pair of beams should support the total weight of pallets per level. Add-on sections require only one extra frame and the necessary beams to complete the setup.
